So pleased to report that our Charity Football match that took place at Bury Town FC on Sunday 4 October raised just under £7,000!
Team Jude (members of the public) who bid to play against the Pro Celeb team won by a staggering 9 – 2 and were the first ever winners of the Jude Brady Charity Shield! Well done boys! The Pro Celeb team included Kieron Dyer, John Wark, Simon Milton, Ruel Fox, DJ Spoony, Michael Duberry, Leo the Lion (the Voice), Rob Lamar (Channel 5 presenter) MC Kie, Tesfae Bramble, Danny Legend, Darren Taylor and our very own Peter Brady!
Want to say a massive thank you to everyone that took part in the match, to those who turned out to watch and to our headline Sponsors East of England Co-op and also to Barclays Bank who had 2 members of staff play in Team Jude. Their involvement added a huge boost to our fundraising so THANK YOU!
Thank you also to Bury Town FC for hosting the match, Simon Milton at ITFC and Total Football who supplied our teams with kit. There are so many people to thank as we had such good support – I hope I haven’t missed anyone but I think these people deserve a special mention in particular – Celeb FC who were a fantastic support in providing players and advertising, Source One Interiors who also sponsored the event, Lee Godfree who helped me plan the event, Jamie Dedman of Mutual Media for all his help and fantastic design and print work, Mark Murphy of BBC Radio Suffolk. Phil Ham of TWTD, Nick Kabay of ICRFM Russell Claydon of Bury Free Press and to everyone else who helped spread the word of this exciting event. Watch this space for details of next year’s match!
